New parent's guide for Infant's vaccination plans

After giving birth, scheduling mandatory vaccinations for your newborn baby becomes essential. All newborns require these vaccinations.

Every country has its own vaccination plan for infants. If you intend to leave Korea within a year, it's crucial to research the vaccination requirements for your destination.

Additionally, it's important to maintain a record of the vaccines your baby receives and the corresponding dates of administration in Korea, which will be useful for future follow-up.

Gynecologies in Korea will provide a baby vaccine recording book in which nurses will document the dates of vaccine administration and the projected date for the next vaccine.

Here is the vaccination plan for infants in Korea:

There are two primary vaccines in Korea you can keep in mind that should be administered to newborns within the first month of their life.

BCG

There are two available types of BCG vaccine:

The first type (single needle) is covered by insurance and requires an appointment, but availability may vary among clinics.

The second type (nine-needle stamp type) is for the uninsured, does not require an appointment, and is available at all clinics.

Both types have the same dosage and contents, but they use different types of needles and can cause different discomfort levels.

Before visiting the pediatrician, parents can choose their preferred type.

HepB 2nd shot

should be administered precisely one month after the first.

Please note that HepB requires three shots, with the first given at birth.

The first month after welcoming your newest family member can be quite busy for both parents, as you'll need to complete several practical tasks and processes to ensure a smooth transition into society.

The first month after your baby is born will be busy for you. You'll do important things like registering your baby, getting shots, going to checkups, and simultaneous recovery for the mother.

This time of getting used to having a new baby will make you feel more confident as parents.

Embrace it, and know that you're doing a great job!
