[석촌호수] Seockchon lake - A Radiant Celebration of Light and Life

When autumn and winter season arrives at  Seokchon Lake, the entire area comes alive with captivating annual events, offering beauty and excitement for the public to enjoy.

Visiting Seokchon Lake has always been a privilege, especially during the festival. The lake is a delightful place for leisurely strolls. With the festival, the lake transforms into a realm of wonders, promising precious memories and splendid photo opportunities.

I'd like to share the myriad of events that provide relief for those who endure busy days in the office, offering a refreshing escape from their daily tasks as the day winds down.

The Luminaria Festival at Seokchon Lake is a must-see as the evening sets around 6 p.m.  

This year, collaborating with the globally acclaimed jewellery brand Vlgari, the iconic Serpenti light graces Seokchon Lake's East Lake, bestowing a touch of mystical radiance upon the Luminaria Festival.

Commencing at the main Luminarie Gate at Seokchon Lake's entrance, you'll discover an array of Luminarie gates that welcome your way through alluring light tunnels, scenic landscape lighting, various photo zones, and captivating media art installations. These will continue to illuminate until the end of February 2024. As the year approaches, visitors to Seokchon Lake can enjoy stunning visual displays.

Seokchon Lake, with its eastern and western areas, celebrates the "Autumn and Winter of the Lake and Luminaria Festival" under the theme "Connecting Hearts with Light." This festival, introduced in 2003 to Seoul Korea, has received an overwhelming response, "Luminaria" involves using light to adorn structures, often called light art or light sculpture.

This visit was made even more special by the presence of Patricia. Meeting her was a remarkable experience, and her adventurous spirit in travelling from Germany to Korea for a month every year to explore culture and life is truly inspiring. Her enthusiasm for life is a beautiful reminder that age is just a number, and I am genuinely grateful for the positive energy she brought into my life. May your journey be endless, filled with happiness, and continue to inspire others, just as you've inspired me.
