Additionally, it is the most eagerly awaited time for office workers in Korea due to the extended week-long holiday it offers.


Traditionally, in accordance with Confucian practices, families visit distant relatives and ancestral tombs during the Chuseok holiday to pay their respects, show gratitude for their hard work, and share the food they harvested, such as fruits, vegetables, and cooked rice that the family worked on during the spring and a challenging hot summer.


As lifestyles have evolved, fewer people adhere to traditional practices and travel abroad to explore new places with their loved ones.


Airlines and travel agencies experience their busiest month during this season as the demand for travel rises, resulting in increasing guest numbers. They entice travellers with various travel packages offered at extremely reasonable prices.


Korea serves as an ideal hub for international travellers. With a maximum flight duration of 2 to 5 hours, you can explore destinations like Japan, China, Russia, Mongolia, and Southeast Asia without wasting your precious holiday time in transit.


Having last travelled internationally with my mom in 2012, I embarked on another journey with her, seeking relaxation at the destination. Cebu emerged as one of the ideal choices.


I came across an early bird ticket from trip.com for two with Cebu Pacific Airlines, priced at 230,000 KRW per person, under the condition that there should be no check-in luggage and no meal service. 


Considering my 71-year-old mom's upcoming journey, I must take proactive steps to ensure she stays well-hydrated throughout the 4-hour, 30-minute flight and subsequent 3-hour taxi ride to Moal Boal.  Dehydration is my biggest concern since this is a low-budget trip without food and drink inflight service. Here's what else we can prepare to help us avoid dehydration
